Mamma voglio tornare a casa,

Mamma voglio tornare a casa,
quando torneremo ad essere felici puoi dirmelo?

keys and Butterflies"

I dreamed of a sun that does not burn,
and butterflies coming out of rifles to caress my face,
i saw the bodies of dead people, and arid plains,
and all the evil that a man has in his heart.
Fleeing I lost my brother and I stroked a dog,
i wondered if I will truly grow up one day,
and bring flowers and also good bread,
to all the faces I will meet along the way.

Mom, I want to go home,
when will we be happy again, can you tell me?

I saw the houses reduced to a pile of dust and open sky,
where yesterday's toys now sleep under the stones.
Adults talk about borders and reasons I don't understand,
while I count my steps so I don't feel the emptiness under my feet.
There is a thread of black smoke drawing strange figures on the roofs,
they look like tired birds searching for a place to land.
I squeezed mom's hand until my fingers hurt,
because the world out there keeps making a noise that is too loud.
I just wish the night would forget to return,
and that the sky would go back to being just blue and big.

Mom, I want to go home,
when will we be happy again, can you tell me?
