A baby, a sweet and innocent lamb
A tender sapling in a forest green
Fresh from the Heavens he came
And on everyone of us, he will lean.

Each day, each month, the child is molded
Each year, much taller he has grown
In our care he is lovingly tended,
His life unfolds while here "on loan."

Teachers guide, instruct and direct aright,
They expound, test, inspire and teach.
While parents, by example, provide happy homes
And God gives strength, light and peace.

Friends give the child added dimensions
His siblings add fun, fights and trials
Life's challenges will cause him to make choices
But 'tis TEACHERS WHO PERFORM THE "EXTRA MILE."

The child grown's strong, lean and tall
That tender sapling is now a MIGHTY OAK
A treasure of memories and knowledge
And EDUCATION is the message he evokes!
